GFCI Receptacles

GFCI Receptacles: These are a crucial part of safe electrical installations and according to the electrical code need to be installed in specific locations. Some of these locations are in bathrooms, outdoors, garages, within a metre of a kitchen sink and to replace ungrounded receptacles.
These plugs are designed to protect the consumer from electrical shocks. I’ve been in many homes that do not have this basic protection. Once installed they should also be tested on a regular basis by pushing the test button on the front of them and then resetting.
